New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park could be a u. S. National Historical Park in New Bedford, Massachusetts, and is maintained by the parkland Service. The park commemorates the heritage of the World’s leading whaling port throughout the nineteenth century. Established in 1996, the park encompasses thirty four acres (fourteen hectares) distributed over 13 town blocks. It includes a traveler center, the New Bedford National Historic Landmark District, the New Bedford Whaling depository, the Seamen’s place of worship, the Schooner Ernestina, and also the Rotch-Jones-Duff House and Garden depository.
