The first settlers within the space that may eventually become Neodesha established a sales outlet in Gregorian calendar month 1867 to the northwest of the current city. They were allowed by the Osage Indians to determine a sales outlet on the Osage Diminished Reserve as a result of the closest sales outlet was over thirty miles away. Once the Drum Creek pact had been signed by the Osage tribe in Sep 1870 and therefore the tribe stirred to Indian Territory; it opened the manner for settlers to maneuver to the realm.
