Nebraska may be a state on the nice Plains of the western u. S.. The state’s capital is Lincoln and its largest town is Omaha, on the Missouri River. Varied cultures of autochthonic peoples lived within the region on the rivers for thousands of years before European exploration. Historical Native yankee tribes living in Nebraska have enclosed the Omaha, Missouria, Ponca, Pawnee, Otoe, and numerous branches of the Lakota (Sioux).
Nebraska gets its name from the archaic Otoe words Ñí Brásge, pronounced [bask] (contemporary Otoe Ñí Bráhge), or the Omaha Ní Btháska, pronounced [nbaska], which means “flat water”, once the Platte that flows through the state. Once thought of a part of the nice yankee Desert, Nebraska is currently a number one farming and agriculture state. The Omaha and Ho-Chunk (Winnebago) square measure federally recognized yankee Indian tribes, every with a reservation in Thurston County in jap Nebraska, wherever they represent the bulk of population.
