Nawalgarh is a town that is located in the Jhunjhunu district of the state of Rajasthan. It is located in the Sekhawati region and the town is known for its many havelis that are located in most places around the town. The havelis are built on a large scale and one can see many frescoes and paintings on them. The town is one of the few places that many of these are still very well preserved. The town is located in the North Eastern region of the state. There are a few forts that are located in the area as well. The Bala Kila Fort is a well known fort that was built by Thakul Singh. Fategrah Fort is also another interesting structure in the town of Nawalgarh. The other important buildings in the town are the Roop Niwas Palace, Sri Gopinath Ji Mandir and Lakshmi Narayan Mandir. These buildings are around 300 years old and are still preserved in excellent condition. The buildings are characterized by many windows that have many sculptures and carvings. The temples of the town of Nawalgarh have a unique architecture and there are many inlays and sculptures that are very uncommon. The Podar Haveli Museum has many paintings and is a good place to visit.
