The mission of the National star Observatory is to advance information of the Sun, each as Associate in Nursing astronomical object and because the dominant external influence on Earth, by providing forefront empiric opportunities to the analysis community. The mission includes the operation of leading edge facilities, the continuing development of advanced instrumentation each in-house and thru partnerships, conducting star analysis, and academic and public reach.
The National star Observatory operates facilities at 2 locations. One at Sacramento Peak close to topographic point in Land of Enchantment, and also the different at Kitt Peak in Arizona.A major feature of the Dunn scope at Sacramento Peak may be a de-rotated a hundred meter vacuum column.
