Nathaniel Wheeler Memorial Fountain is found in metropolis, Connecticut at the intersection of Fairfield and Park avenues. The fountain was in-built 1912–1913 and was additional to the National Register of Historic Places on Apr four, 1985. The fountain consists of 4 elements: a central bronze figure of a imaginary creature holding aloft a lamp and rising out of a refined granite pool and 3 on an individual basis decorated polished granite watering troughs at the angles of the triangular parcel of land raised higher than the road.The fountain was a mid-career work of maverick yank sculptor Gutzon Borglum.The fountain underwent a $199,000 restoration in 2009–2010, during which transport injury was repaired and therefore the flow of water was rebuilt to the fountain among different refurbishments.
