Nanortalik is Greenland’s southmost city and is found during a scenic space with a number of Greenland’s most picturesque fjords, small woodlands and steep mountainsides. The town’s name means “place of polar bears”, that refers to the polar bears that often taste the city in summer, along side the Ice pack from the ocean.
Nanortalik particularly attracts daring globetrotters, United Nations agency travel for themselves, but organised excursions also are arranged within the town. Nanortalik is best renowned for its natural “skyscrapers”, the steep, craggy peaks and vertical rock walls in Tasermiut inlet, Pamialluk and also the distinctive blue blood Christian Sound.
