Nalbari is a city that is located in the Nalbari district of the state of Assam. The town is known for its many temples and these are some of the most important tourist places in the region. The temple is around 500 years old and attracts devotees from many places. An annual Raas festival is celebrated in Hari Mandir and it might be worth visiting the place during this time. A Buddhist Temple is located 20 kilometers outside the town and this place is also worth visiting. A great festival is celebrated in the temple every year. Some of the other places of interest are Daulashal-Temple, Basudeb Devalay, Shiv Mandir, Sri Kali Devalay and Sripur Devalay Mandir. A 14th century rampart called the Fenguwa Rampart is located in the region and this has an important historical significance as well.

By Air : If you are arriving by air, the most viable option is the Guwahati Airport. The airport has flights arriving from international destinations as well. The airport has frequent connectivity to many cities in the country and this includes, Chennai, Bangalore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Bangalore and Delhi. Upon arrival you can opt for a taxi to the town of Nalbari. Since the distance is short, this is the best option. The travel time from Guwahati to Nalbari takes around one hour. Taxis cost around Rs 600 for the trip.

By Train : The town of Nalbari has a railway station that is connected to the city of Guwahati with frequent train services. Many trains pass through the station and the travel time from Guwahati takes less than two hours. Second class sleeper tickets cost Rs 120 for the trip. Direct trains are also available from Howrah (Kamrup Express) and Delhi (Brahmputra Mail).

By Bus : Frequent bus services are available from the main bus terminus at Guwahati. Bus ticket rates are approximately Rs 50 for the short trip. Buses are generally crowded as many locals use this mode of transport.
