Nagari is a town that is located in the Chittoor District of the State of Andhra Pradesh. The town is a semi industrialized place. The town is located on the Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu border. Telugu and Tamil are the main languages that are spoken here. Nagari is surrounded by hills and this provides a pleasant climate during the winter months. Nagari Nose is a cliff that is located in one of the hills and is popular tourist site. The cliff has a light house situated on it and it is lit on full moon days. The River Kusasthalai can be seen near the town. . Sri Desama Vari temple is one of the famous temples in Nagari. Many devotees can be seen on Tuesdays and the deity is believed to be extremely powerful. There are many new temples that have been constructed. Some of them are, Om Shakthi Temple and a few Hanuman Temples. There is an old Shiva temple that is also located nearby.

Nagari is a in Chittoor district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is a semi agrarian – semi industrialised town. A sizeable textile manufacturing industry thrives in and around Nagari. Nagari is 5 km from the Andhra Pradesh – Tamil Nadu border and about 45 km from Tirupati.Many festivals are celebrated in the town and this season is a good time to visit the place. Some of the festivals that are celebrated are Panguni Urtchavam, Ganagama Jathara, Aadi Kruthigai Kavadi, Khandasati, Malachuthu, The Midhi Thiruvizha and some others.

By Air : The nearest airport is located in Chennai and it situated around 90 km from the town. Chennai Airport is one of the main airports in the country and has frequent flight services to all the important cities. The international airport is well connected to many countries and for those who are arriving by air this is the best option.

By Train : There are trains that are available from Chennai as well. Some of the trains that pass through Nagari are, Tirupathi Express and Saptagiri Express. Trains are the most economical way to travel and they charge around Rs 200 for the trip. Tickets may have to be booked in advance as they are always in demand.

By Bus : Nagari can be reached from Bangalore through buses and taxis as well. Taxis charge around RS 5800 for the return trip and the drive takes around 4.5 hours.

By Taxi : Prepaid taxis are available at the Chennai Airport and they are the best option to reach the place. Taxis charge between Rs 1000 and 1200 for the trip. A/C taxis are also available and many of the hotels in Chennai arrange taxi services as well. The place is situated around 81 km from the Tirupathi Airport as well.

Gangamma Jathara ; Venue:  Nagari ; Period :  August ; Details:  Gangamma Jathara is celebrated as a major festival and usually comes up in end of August or beginning of September. The Goddess Gangamma is usually offered animal sacrifices outside the temple. On the immediate Friday after jathara, the grama devathas desamma and oruguntalamma’s utsava moorthys will be brought for ooreginpu in all major streets of the town
