Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary is a home to many species of flora and fauna. Varieties of animals such as deer, elephants, barking deer, panthers, wild cats, Indian bisons and tigers can be seen in the sanctuary. It also houses several species of birds including peafowls, peacocks, wood peckers, cranes and a few others as well. The sanctuary being located amidst lush green forests makes the entire area very scenic. It is a perfect place for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers. Besides, the place is being considered by UNESCO for being nominated as a world heritage site.

By Air : The closest airport is located at Kozhikode and this is the best option for those who are arriving by air. The airport is well connected to many places in the country and there are regular flights from all the metros. Taxis are available at the airport and this is the best way to reach the place. They charge between Rs 7 and Rs 12 per km depending on the type of vehicle.
By Train : he nearest major railway stations are at Mysore and Kozhikode. Mysore is located around 100 km from the place and this is the fastest option as the roads are well laid and there is no ghat section in this road. Taxis from the railway station are the best option and they charge around Rs 1,000 for the trip.
By BUS : Buses are available from Kozhikode to Kapetta. This is the cheapest option and they are generally frequent. Tickets cost around Rs 100.
