Built between 1553 – 1563 as monastery. From 1785 the building accommodated a school, since 1929 it has been housing a museum. The collection comprises objects from the Old Tirol with its Ladin valleys around the Dolomites and the Trentino region.
The important ethnic collection features lounges, furniture, costumes, farming tools, masks and nativity scenes from the Alpine regions. It is said to Europe´s most beautiful Local Heritage Museums. The wide range of exhibits gives a good insight into the culture of the country and the life of its people.
