Sonobudoyo Museum is a museum of history and culture of Java , including the building of classical Javanese architecture.
The museum features a collection of Javanese culture and history that are considered the most complete after the National Museum of the Republic of Indonesia in Jakarta . In addition to ceramics at the time of the Neolithic and bronze sculpture from the 8th century , this museum also stores various forms of shadow play , a variety of ancient weapons (including dagger ), and the mask of Java.
The Sonobudoyo Museum is located in the north-Alon Alun Lor of Yogyakarta palace and it also features puppet performances in the evening in the form of its original appearance (using the Java language accompanied with Javanese gamelan music). Puppet shows are presented briefly from 8:00 to 10:00 hours on a weekday evening for the tourists, both foreign and domestic.
