The repository of the yankee Printing House for the Blind opened in 1994 and is found in metropolis, Kentucky. The repository tells the story of the international history of the education of individuals UN agency ar blind, and the way the yankee Printing House for the Blind has contributed to it history. Exhibits specialise in tactile systems, writing devices, braille production, orientation and quality, instructional aids and early faculties for the blind. It’s situated on the second floor of the company’s original 1883 mill building.
Contrary to usual prescript, nearly all exhibits ar meant to be touched. A reader rail follows the complete repository with braille labels, audio devices, and tactile illustrations before of every exhibit. Guests can see original sound recording recording and playback instrumentation, long canes and dog guide harness, original stereotype printing plates and instrumentation, a comprehensive assortment of historic braillewriters, and lots of historic books written in varied tactile writing systems.
