The Museum has a large collection of objects and photographs related to the life and history of the “Guanches” (aboriginal people of Tenerife), who were the first inhabitants of the Canary Islands. The exhibition includes ceramic remains along with wooden and leather utensils. There are also mummies and a mummified fetus, which are the Museums most important exhibits. It also has a collection of exhibits related to pre-Colombian architecture, African ethnography, Berber ceramics and the Western Sahara.
