Mountain read is that the largest town in and also the county courthouse of Stone County within the north-central region of the U.S. State of Arkansas. The town’s name comes from its location in an exceedingly vale enclosed by the jap mountain chain. Before the institution of Mountain read in 1890, the city of Riggsville existed in real time to the east.
