Moppila Bay, located near the Kunnar city is one of the must see places in Kannur. Moppila Bay is a natural fishing harbor built with assistance under the Indo Norwegian pact. The bay was well known during the Kolathiri’s regime as a commercial harbor linking Kolathunadu with Lakshadweep and foreign countries, in imports. St. Angelo’s Fort which is on the other side of the bay is a major atraction. If the weather is favorable, taking a boat trip would be a memorable experience.

Moppila Bay was famous during the reign of the Kolathiri as a commercial harbor that linked Kolathunadu with Lakshadweep and foreign countries.n one side of the bay is Fort St. Angelo, built by the Portuguese in the 15th century and the other side is the Arakkal Palace. Ayikkara is home to the palace of the Arakkal family.
