Detail InformationEdit

Moolnayakji Temple Built in 1486, dedicated to Lord Moolnayak Krishna, the Moolnayakji temple is a structure of immense religious significance. Not only was it Bikaner’s first Vaishnav temple, but it was also the venue where the principal seat of the Vaishnav sect was established. While the grand architecture pleases the eye, it is the various stories attached to the temple that pique one’s interest. One such anecdote states that the first of the Bhagwat Katha readers (called ‘Vachaks’), Rattoji Vyas, imparted Bhagvad Upadesh (advice) to the monarch Rao Bika and his aide Salloji Rathi within the premises of the temple. In fact, this practice is carried on till this very day.
