Monessen could be a town in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, us. The population was seven,720 at the 2010 census. In 1940, 20,257 individuals lived there. In 1990 the population was thirteen,026. Steel-making was a prominent industry in Monessen, that was a Rust Belt borough within the “Mon Valley” of southwestern Pennsylvania that became a third-class town in 1921. It’s close to Charleroi and Donora, 2 similar places with similar histories. In keeping with the us Census Bureau, town includes a total space of three.1 square miles (8.0 km2), of which, 2.9 sq. Miles (7.5 km2) of it’s land and zero.2 sq. Miles (0.52 km2) of it (4.90%) is water.
