Mokotakan is AN outside repository settled in Saint-Mathieu-du-Parc within the Mauricie region of Quebec, Canada. It traces the presence of aboriginal peoples in Quebec for quite 5000 years. The eleven aboriginal peoples of Quebec drawn at the positioning ar Abenakis, Algonquins, Atikamekws, Cree, Wendat, Innu (Montagnais), Inuit, Maliseet, Micmac, Mohawk, Naskapis. The interpretative village was made supported numerous buildings recovered from numerous sites from the eleven nations.
The Mission of this web site is that the sharing, dissemination and interpretation of culture of autochthonous peoples of the Americas, with stress on the eleven nations of Quebec. A radio-controlled tour teaches guests lifestyles, culture, history and spirituality of those peoples. Mōkotākan means that “crooked knife” in Atikamekw, an important tool of the eleven nations of Quebec.
