Detail InformationEdit
“Mirador del Rio” (El Río Viewpoint) is located on the Risco de Famara cliffs, at 400 metres above sea level, and offers stunning views of the island of Lanzarote. It is home to one of the most representative buildings by architect Cesar Manrique.
This building by Manrique is barely visible from the outside, being hidden beneath the rock. It is perfectly integrated into the surrounding countryside. Outside there is a wrought iron sculpture symbolising water and air. Inside, visitors can see traditional ceramics, a range of sculptures and there are large windows offering beautiful views of the island. Its domed main room, cupolas and exterior balconies are also not to be missed.
