Michoacán, formally Michoacán American state Ocampo, formally Free and Sovereign State of Michoacán American state Ocampo, is one amongst the thirty one states that, with the administrative district, comprise the thirty two Federal Entities of Mexico. It’s divided in 113 municipalities and its capital town is Morelia (formerly known as Valladolid). Town was named once José María Morelos, hero of the warfare of Independence.
Michoacán is found in Western Mexico. It’s seagirt by the states of Volcan de Colima and Jalisco to the northwest, Guanajuato and Querétaro to the north, MéXico to the east, Guerrero to the southeast. To the southwest, Michoacán incorporates a stretch of lineation on the Pacific.
