The Michigan Avenue Bridge (officially DuSable Bridge) may be a construction bridge that carries Michigan Avenue across the most stem of the Chicago watercourse in downtown Chicago, Illinois, u. S.. The bridge was projected within the early twentieth century as a part of an idea to link Chicago’s side and side parks with a grand street. Construction of the bridge started in 1918, it opened to traffic in 1920, and ornamental work was completed in 1928. The bridge provides passage for vehicles associated pedestrians on 2 levels; it’s an example of a set trunnion construction bridge, that is additionally referred to as a “Chicago vogue construction bridge”. The bridge is enclosed within the Michigan–Wacker Historic District and has been selected as a Chicago Landmark.
The Michigan Avenue Bridge incorporates a north–south orientation, spanning the most stem of the Chicago watercourse between the close to side and Loop community areas of Chicago. Its northern portal lies at the foot of the impressive Mile, between the Wrigley Building and apsis Tower.
