The Metropolitan United Protestant denomination could be a church within the New Center space of urban center, Michigan, 8000 Woodward Avenue (at Chandler). It had been created in 1926, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, and selected a Michigan State Historic web site in 1986.
The church could be a terribly massive structure within the English Gothic vogue, engineered from a particular ochre granite from Massachusetts. It’s in-built a conventional cruciate style braced with many low facet wings and a gabled roof. The sanctuary occupies the western 1/2 the building whereas the jap [*fr1] contains AN area, offices and lecture rooms. A corridor on the most level separates the sanctuary from the area. The walls of each areas retract permitting up seating for up to seven,000 with a read of the sanctuary.
