Metis-sur-Mer may be a village within the La Mitis Regional County Municipality among the Bas-Saint-Laurent region of Quebec. This space was 1st settled by Scottish immigrants throughout the first nineteenth century. The name “Metis” is alleged to come back from a Mi’kmaq signified “meeting place”; “sur-mer” refers to its location on the Saint Lawrence watercourse.
