The Memorial Bridge options a seven span, reinforced-concrete deck rib arches, with a nine span concrete block bridge. Every of the watercourse spans is created from five Melan-type, two-hinged, reinforced-concrete arch ribs of parabolic profile. The bridge spans over the rail yard consists of a concrete block deck carried by transversal bents of concrete-encased steel.
The piers ar granite-faced reinforced-concrete.By the Nineties, the concrete on top of the arches was plagued by advanced Alkali-Silica Reactivity (ASR) attack. The 1996 rehabilitation project replaced the complete deck system. This project was completed by Daniel O’Conell’s Sons in 1996.
