Mayo Bridge (also referred to as Richmond’s ordinal St. Bridge) is found in Richmond, Virginia. A four lane structure, it transports U.S. Main road 360 across the James stream. Assemblage identifies the bridge as “Mayo’s Bridge.” The bridge is truly in 2 sections, separated close to the center by salad dressing Island. The full length is one,374 feet (north and south sections combined). The present structure was in-built 1913 and accommodated serious trolley car traffic. It’s Richmond’s oldest main road bridge across the James stream.It was engineered on the positioning of the city’s 1st bridge completed in 1788 by John salad dressing Jnr., the grandchild of the person WHO 1st set out Richmond’s grid pattern. Rising simply thirty feet higher than the water line, the salad dressing Bridge is presently Richmond’s solely bridge subject to flooding. Massive floodgates in Richmond’s Flood wall defend the encircling areas on all sides throughout James stream Flooding. As a result of the closeness to the stream surface, the facetwalks on either side of the salad dressing Bridge became well-liked fishing locations.
