In 1951 discussions were started about a new church in Hintertux. In 1952 the construction of the small church “Maria Himmelfahrt” (=Assumption of the Blessed Virgin) was finished and it got consecreted by bishop Paulus Rusch from Innsbruck on August 15th. In 1988 the Chapel was restored and a new organ was installed.
