Maravanthe is a seaside town close to the temple town of Kollur and Kodachadri hills. On town’s west coast, NH17 sails on with Arabian Sea on one side and the Sauparnika River on the other. The national highway is so situated that it divides the sea and the river. Kodachadri Hills forms a mountainous setting. The national highway is around only 100 meters away from the shore. Maravanthe is a harbour-city and attracts tourists because of its beautiful scenery. During sunsets, a crimson sky & golden rays beams both in the sea and river convinces Maravanthe into a fantasy world of scenic beauty. The beaches of Maravanthe is an ideal place for a quiet vacation with family. One can be cut off from the outside world when at Maravanthe. The Sauparnika river can be used for boating and in summer the water in the river is only two feet deep making it possible to walk down the river. The exquisite Maravanthe beach at Maravanthe lures a lot of tourists because of its never ending stretch of golden sand and persuading palm trees. near Baindur in Maravanthe is very famous for its splendid sunset. Maravanthe is regarded as the best beach in the whole state of Karnataka. Warm summers and pleasant winters are the specialties of Maravanthe. Summers (March to May) have a temperature range of 22°C to 40°C. Winters during December to February have a maximum of 32°C and a minimum of 10°C. Monsoons during June to August offer medium rainfall.

By Air : Nearest airport is Mangalore which is at a distance of nearly 110 km away from the Maravanthe beach. Mangalore is well connected to many airports in South India. By BUS : Maravanthe beach is well connected with all other cities in and around by Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation buses. Tourist deluxe bus services are available from Marvanthe to Bangalore (450 km), Gokarna (130 km) and Goa (275 km). These buses charge about Rs 3 to Rs 4 per km.
