Manikaran, the most popular pilgrim destination in Himachal Pradesh is surrounded by the Harinder Mountains and blessed with exotic natural vista. While tourists come here in winter to enjoy the scenic snowfall, pilgrims flock here to pay homage at various temples and the Gurudwara. The main attraction in Manikaran, that attracts tourists and pilgrims alike, are the holy hot water springs known to have healing properties. The climate of Manikaran is pleasant throughout the year. Some of the main Hindu temples in the place are dedicated to Lord Rama, Lord Vishnu and Lord Krishna. These are important religious destinations for many visitors. The Gurudwara that is situated in the town has an association with Guru Nanak and this is the reason that many Sikhs travel to the place. There is a hot spring that is located in the Gurudwara complex and the place also provides the devotees with free food. Trekking and hiking too can be enjoyed during this time. During Winters (November to March), temperatures can dip to as low as -8°C and snowfall can be enjoyed during this time. Monsoons (July to September) are best avoided as Manikaran receives very heavy rainfall.
