Mammiyur Mahadevan Temple is considered an integral part of the Guruvayur pilgrim tour. The temple enshrines the idol of Lord Shiva. Besides, the temple also houses smaller shrines of Ayyappa, Vishnu, Subramanyam and Ganapathy. It is also believed that Goddess Parvathy is present inside the sanctorum. Mural paintings with the images of Mohini adorn the walls of the temple.

Taxi : Guruvayur is well connected by a road network and national highways. The tourist will reach to Guruvayur by taxi. the traditional Indian taxi charges of Rupees eight to twenty are charged for each Kilometre.
Bus : There are bus services connecting Guruvayur with all important towns in Kerala and the neighboring Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. The vehicles terminate in the vicinity of either the eastern or western gate of the temple. Both KSRTC and private busses offer interstate services to all major South Indian cities like Madras, Madurai, Palani, Salem, Coimbatore, Thiruchandoor, Mysore, Mangalore, Uduppi, Mookambika etc. The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus station is about 200 metres from the western gopuram, while the private bus station is close by Manjulal on he eastern side.One will have therefore no difficulty in locating the shrine.
Train : Guruvayur has its own railway station named as Guruvayur railway station and is connected by Ernakulum Junction and Thrissur Railway Station. There are many trains that connect Guruvayur to several important places such as Trivandrum, Chennai, Coimbatore, Trichy and Bangalore.
