Mallital is a part of the hill station of and it is located in the state of Uttaranchal. A lake called Nayana Tal is located near the hill station and the upper end of the lake is known as Mallital. The lower part of the lake is called Tallital. Mallital is a popular tourist destination and many people who travel to Nainital visit the place. One of the main attractions in Mallital is the Goddess Naina Devi Temple. One can see a large crowd of people at the temple during the festive time and also the peak tourist season. Shopping is also a popular activity in the place. Some of the different markets that are located here are the Tibetan Market, Bhotia Market and Chat Market. One can acquire a wide variety of products from these different places, while visiting the area. Boating is also one of the most popular tourist activities in Mallital. The huge lake is often filled with many boats. One can choose from a wide variety of boats that are available at the place. The place has an excellent view of many snow capped peaks and is generally crowded during the peak season.

By Air : The closest airport is located in Pantnagar. The drive time from the airport to Mallital is around two hours and taxis are available outside the airport. The Pantnagar Airport is served by two airline operators and has good connectivity to Delhi. Taxis from the airport cost around Rs 1200 for the trip.

By Train : The nearest railway station is located at Kathgodam. The station is situated around 35 km away from the place. It has good connectivity to many places and receives frequent trains from Delhi. Tickets from Delhi to Kathgodam cost around Rs 150 for a non A/C sleeper class birth. A/C three tier tickets cost around Rs 400. Taxis charge approximately Rs 500 for the trip.

By BUS : Nainital has regular connectivity from nearby places. Private and government buses are available from Delhi. Private bus operators charge Rs 450 for a non A/C bus. Some operators have Volvo buses and they cost around Rs 900. These are much more comfortable.

By Taxi : Taxis and Auto rickshaws are easily available for moving about in the city.
