Maitland is one in all the oldest incorporated residential district municipalities in Central American state. though the realm was antecedently thickly settled by native Americans, the city is called when Fort historiographer that was inbuilt 1838 on the western shore of Lake Fumecheliga (later Lake Maitland) throughout the Second Seminole Indian War. when the war the fort was torn down and also the settlement remained. This settlement came to be known as historiographer. when the war, the realm was place into in depth citrus production.
