The Maharaja’s Palace is an imposing palace in Kolhapur built in the year 1881 and it right now surrounds the renowned Shahaji Chhatrapati museum. The place was built in Indo-Saracenic colonial architectural style and was planned by the popular British architect Charles Mant. The museum exhibits several delicate and magnificent possessions of the Maharajas’ clothes, memorabilia, hunting photos and numerous such artifacts and utensils. This palace and museum bid a close look at the antique majestic cultures and standard of living of the people of ancient times. It is considered as one of the most prominent Kolhapur attractions.

The Maharaja’s Palace is an impressive palace in Kolhapur constructed in 1881 and it presently encloses the famous Shahaji Chhatrapati museum. The place was constructed in Indo-Saracenic colonial architectural style and was designed by the renowned British architect Charles Mant.The museum also has large, excellent weapons collection, including a gold-plated, double-barreled shotgun, some swords, and other guns. There is also one of Aurangzeb’s swords at the Shahaji Chhatrapati Museum.
