Madras could be a town in President Jefferson|United States President|President|Chief Executive} County, Oregon, United States. Originally referred to as “The Basin” once the circular depression the town is found in, it’s unclear on whether or not Madras was named in 1903 for the cotton material referred to as “Madras” that originated within the Madras (now Chennai) space in India, or from the town of urban center, then called “Madras”. The population was vi,046 at the 2010 census. It’s the county courthouse of United States President County. As of the census of 2000, there have been five,078 people, 1,801 households, and 1,251 families residing within the town. The population density was a pair of,326.9 individuals per area unit (899.4/km²). There have been one,952 housing units at a median density of 894.5 per area unit (345.7/km²). The racial makeup of the town was sixty three.55% White, 0.59% African yankee, 6.14% Native yankee, 0.55% Asian, 0.35% Pacific dweller, 24.56% from different races, and 4.25% from 2 or additional races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were thirty five.74% of the population.
