Los Fresnos (Spanish for The Ash Trees) could be a town in Cameron County, Texas, us. The population was four,512 at the 2000 census. It’s a part of the BrownsvilleHarlingen Metropolitan applied math space. Situated in south central Cameron County, town was named for the fresnos (Fraxinus berlandieriana) scattered within the woods and on streams. In 1912, Lon Hill, associate Early land owner, fashioned a corporation to develop a canal system which might use the river to irrigate land for farming. Railroad construction within the early decennium began to bring settlers to the world, and by 1915 a Post workplace was established. As a result of the fertile, irrigated land, farm merchandise multiplied and with the long season within the river depression, farming flourished. These days town continues to be enclosed by fertile farm/ranch land. Major crops ar cotton, sugarcane, grains, Orange, and red grapefruit orchards.
