Lord Ramchandra Temple is the most important temple of Manikaran. The temple was constructed by Raja Jagat Singh in 17th century. The idol of Shri Ram installed here is believed to have been brought straight from Ayodhya. An idol of Goddess Sita accompanies that of Lord Rama in this temple. In the year 1889 the temple was renovated by Raja Dilip Singh. Though the history of the temple is inscribed in a stone of walls, yet nothing is visible. Today, the temple is been looked after by a Tust. There are three halls and forty rooms in the temple complex, specially meant for the visiting devotees. A lungar is oragnised to distribute food to the devotees.Sri Ramchandra temple is located in the center of the town and one can have a very good look in and around this temple. The Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Gurdwara provides some extraordinary sights while one can enjoy a dip in the hot waters from the springs. There are altogether three baths, one is located under the Gurdwara itself and the other two are privately owned and located in guesthouses.

Taxi : Taxies are easily available for moving about in the city.

BUS : Tourist can easily get regular buses to Manikaran from other major cities of the country.

Train : The closest major railway stations are at Pathankot (150 km) and Chandigarh (268 km). Train tickets from Delhi to Chandigarh cost around Rs 100 and this is a feasible option. Tickets from Delhi to Pathankot cost between Rs 200 and 250. Taxis are available at both the stations and this is the most comfortable option. They charge Rs 7 for a Tata Indica.

Air : The closest airport is located at the town of Bhuntar near Kullu (44 km) and this is a feasible option for all those who prefer to travel by air. The Bhuntar Airport is located around half an hour away from Manikaran. The airport receives flights from places such as Delhi, Pathankot, Chandigarh, Dharamshala and Shimla. Taxis are available outside the airport and these are the easiest option to reach Manikaran. They charge around Rs 200 for the trip.
