Lone Pine may be a census-designated place (CDP) in Inyo County, California, us. Lone Pine is found sixteen miles (26 km) sou’-sou’-east of Independence, at associate elevation of 3727 feet (1136 m). The population was a pair of,035 at the 2010 census, up from 1,655 at the 2000 census. The city is found within the Owens depression, close to the Alabama Hills. From choices of urban, rural, and frontier, the government agency identifies this space as “frontier.” The native hospital, Southern Inyo Hospital, offers standby emergency services. On March twenty six, 1872, the terribly giant Lone Pine earthquake destroyed most of the city and killed twenty seven of its 250 to three hundred residents.
