The effort to preserve Lloyd Street was the impetus for the origination of the someone Historical Society of Maryland, currently the someone repository of Maryland.Baltimore architects Henry M. Robert Cary Long, Jr. And William Reasin designed the building within the modern Greek Revival vogue. Four doric columns support a classic gable, all painted lightweight pink. The body of the building is brick.
It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.In 2011, archaeologists uncovered a mikveh beneath the place of worship.It is believed to be the oldest renowned mikveh within the u. S..
