Montreal’s very little European country (French, La Petite-Italie; Italian Piccola Italia) is found on Saint Laurent street between Jean-Talon and St. Zotique Streets and is home to 1 of Montreal’s original Italian Canadian communities. It’s a part of the city borough of Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie, to the south of Villeray and Jarry Park.
The neighbourhood is home to several fine Italian outlets and restaurants, the Jean-Talon Market, also because the Church of The Madonna della Difesa, designed by Italian immigrants from the Campobasso space in Molise to commemorate the apparition of female parent|The Virgin|Blessed Virgin|Madonna|Jewess|mother|female parent} Mary in La Difesa, a locality of Campobasso.
