Lexington National burial site could be a u. S. National burial site situated within the town of Lexington, Kentucky. It encompasses but 4050 sq. Metres (1 acre), and as of the tip of 2005 had one,390 interments. It’s closed to new interments.
Lexington National burial site was originally a military section of the Lexington burial site that was initial wont to inhume yank war casualties in 1861. Once the war, many makeshift field of honor cemeteries had their remains affected to Lexington. In 1863, the ton was formally selected a National burial site, and in 1867, an extra 1500 sq. Metres (0.38 acres) were purchased by the central to extend the ton to its current size.
