Legship is a small town that is situated in the West Sikkim district of the state Sikkim. The town of Legship is located along the banks of the Rangit River and it is an extremely picturesque place and one can get a view of snow capped mountains from the town. Legship is a small town in West Sikkim district in the Indian state of Sikkim. The Rangit Dam lies up stream, a dam which the people of Legship were partly responsible for. Another famous place of interest is the Kirateshwar Mahadev Temple. Legship is a small market area on the banks of the river Kalez and Rangeet about 26 kilometers from Pelling. Legship is the gateway to west Sikkim. It is located on the main road connecting Gezing and Pelling with the rest of the state, on the banks of river Rangit. From Legship the road moves up towards Pelling.

By Air : The town of Siliguri has the only airport in the region and if you are planning to reach the place by, this is the only feasible option. The Bagdogra Airport receives flights from many places across the country and there a few flights from international destinations as well. There are frequent flights from places such as Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Guwahati. International flights are available from the cities of Bangkok (Thailand) and Paro (Bhutan). Taxis are available at the airport and these can be hired to reach the town of Legship.

By Train : The town of Siliguri has the only railway station in the region. The main station in the place is the Jalpaiguri station. There are trains from places such as Chennai, New Delhi and Kolkata to the town of Siliguri. Trains are the best all round option and tickets are affordable. Second class tickets from Delhi to Siliguri cost around Rs 440.
