Lawngtlai is a town that is situated in the state of in the Lawngtlai district. The place is predominantly an agricultural town and one can see many green fields and surroundings are beautiful. There are two main wildlife sanctuaries that can be accessed from here and they are known as Lohawka Wildlife Sanctuary and Sinemon Wildlife Sanctuary. The Lohawka Sanctuary is home to lush evergreen forests and there are many species of flora and fauna that can be seen here. Some of the animals that you can see are barking deer, sambar deer, slow moris, rhesus monkeys, leopards and binturong. There are many species of birds that are present here as well. The Sinemon Sanctuary is home to some species of endangered and rare animals such as the tiger and hoolock gibbon. One can also see the wild boar, slow moris and leopard in these forests. Another important place to visit in the area is Kawmzawl. There are several picnic spots that are located here as well and one can also engage in activities such as fishing and angling. Various sites for trekking are also available and one can engage in these activities as well. The region of Lawngtlai experiences a tropical climate that is similar to the overall climatic conditions of the state of Mizoram. One can expect pleasant summers and temperatures are rarely extreme in the region. However the brief peak summer season can be relatively hot. Monsoons are extensive and heavy rainfall is experienced in the place. Winters are much milder and many tourists visit the place during this period.

By Air : The state possesses one major airport and this is situated in the city of Aizawl. The airport is connected to places such as Kolkata, Silchar, Guwahati and Agartala. Travelers who are planning to arrive by air can opt of for this. Connecting flights from Kolkata are a feasible option. Taxis can be hired from the airport and they charge around Rs 7 per kilometer as the base rate.
