Detail InformationEdit

Law Uk Folk Museum is housed in Law Uk, which is located at 14 Kut Shing Street, Chai Wan, Hong Kong. Law Uk is a simple Hakka village house for residence which was built over 200 years ago by the Law family. The house is named after its original owner, a Hakka family whose Chinese surname is transcript as “Law”. Their ancestors settled in Chai Wan early in the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty.
The Laws were poor peasants who grew rice as their livelihood. This house is the only example left from the old farming villages which used to be in Chai Wan. The museum is a branch museum of the Hong Kong Museum Of History.
