The church is located on top of the calvary mountain and boasts a beautiful choir screen dating to the 5th century.
Although the church dates back to early Christian times it made its first appareance in the chronicles in 1352 only. When the church was restored the remainderes of an apsides church dating back to the 5th century. In 1370 the apsis and the frescoes were added to the churc.
