Latehar is a town that is located in the Latehar district of the state of Jharkhand. It is predominantly an agricultural town and many fields can be seen in the surrounding regions. The town is well known for its natural beauty and there are numerous dense forests in the region. The jungles surrounding the town are home to many species of wildlife and one can also find a few species of birds. These are worth exploring while travelling to the town of Latehar. The natural tracks in the jungles make it an ideal place for hiking. It has a rustic charm and attracts many tourists through the year. The Kanti Waterfall is situated at a distance of 23 kilometers from the town and this is a good place to visit. The beautiful waterfall attracts many tourists from the nearby areas. There are two more waterfalls in the region known as Lodh Falls and Lower Gaghri Falls. These are popular picnic spots and the picturesque location is ideal for a day trip from Latehar. One can also visit the Natarhat Dam and The Upper Gaghri Falls.

By Air : The only major airport in the state of Jharkhand is located in the city of Ranchi. There are frequent flights to the place from cities such as Mumbai, Kolkata and Delhi and international travelers can easily get a connecting flight from one of these places. Taxis are present in stands outside the airport and one can hire them to reach the town of Latehar.

By Train : Latehar has a railway station that is connected to places such as Ranchi, Garwa, Tori and New Delhi. Trains are the best all round option as they are affordable and comfortable. Tier Three A/C tickets from Delhi to Latehar cost around Rs 1000. Second class tickets are much cheaper and they cost around Rs 350 for the trip.

By Bus : Buses are available from most places in the state to the town of Latehar. This is an inexpensive way to reach the town. However buses are not comfortable and they are often crowded. Finding proper seating in government buses is a hassle.
