Lataguri is a small village that is situated in the state of West Bengal, in the district of Jalpaiguri. Lataguri is one of the villages that are located along the periphery of the National Park. The village is one of the entry points of the park and one can visit the Nature Interpretation Center that is located here. You can get information on the various varieties of flora and fauna in the center. There are a few roadside dhabas that are situated in the village as well and these cater to the travelers. You can obtain permits for entering in to the Gorumara National Park from the village of Lataguri. The national park is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. Some of the animals that can be seen here are elephants, rhinoceros, sambar deer, bison, gaur, hispid hare and leopard. The National Park is also located nearby and permits for entering this place are also available at the Lataguri village. The park is located at a distance of around 30 kilometers from the village. The park is home to a small population of Bengal tigers. This is a haven for bird watchers as there are a wide variety of birds that can be seen here.

Lataguri is a small village located in the Jalpaiguri district of Indian state of West Bengal. The village is located outside the Gorumara National Park on National Highway No. 31. Permits for entering Gorumara and Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary are given from Lataguri. The village also contains a “Nature Interpretation Center”, which gives information about the flora and fauna of the area. A few roadside restaurants (“Dhabas”) and hotels cater for tourists.

By Air : The Bagdogra Airport, which is located outside the town of Siliguri, serves the region and this is the most ideal option for those who are travelling by air. The airport is connected to the cities such as New Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata and Guwahati. Five main operators offer services from to the airport. You can hire a taxi from the airport to the town and this is the easiest way to reach the village. Taxis charge a base rate of Rs 7 per kilometer.

By Train : The New Jalpaiguri station is the nearest railhead and this is situated at a distance of around 43 kilometers from the village. Regular trains are available from Kolkata, Chennai and New Delhi. If you are travelling by rail, it is advisable to book tickets at least 2 months in advance to be assured of reservation. Second class tickets from New Delhi to Jalpaiguri cost around Rs 450.
