The Lahnbach walls have tamed the Lahnbach river. In former times people had to be prepared for regular floodings or mudflows. At the very beginning, one could walk on an even road from the center of the town to a area called “village”. In the meantime, the little Chapel on the Lahnbach river is already the third being built on exactly the same spot. After the last big flooding in 1855, granite stone walls were erected around the chapel.
