Laguna Gloria is that the former home of Clara Driscoll and website of a 1916 Italianate-style villa on the shores of Lake Austin in Austin, Texas. It absolutely was the first home of the Austin depository of Art and still homes a number of its collections. These days it’s listed within the National Register of Historic Places.
In 1914 the property was purchased by Hal Sevier, editor of the Austin yank, together with his new married person Clara Driscoll. They completed their villa 2 years later, galvanized by a honeymoon visit to Lake Como in Italia. Clara, a frenzied gardener, spent a few years planting native and foreign plants round the website and planning the terraced gardens that stay to the current day. Soon after, the depository began giving art categories, and in 1983, a 5,300-square-foot (490 m2) facility was designed specifically for the growing conservatoire.
