LaGrange has been the county courthouse of Troup County since Dec sixteen, 1828 and is home to LaGrange faculty, the oldest personal faculty within the state. Its proximity to West Point Lake, some miles to the west, makes it a traveller destination for bass fishermen. Though native assets were burned and ransacked by Union troops, commissioned military officer LaGrange spared the homes of LaGrange, together with Bellevue, the house of legislator Benjamin man of science Hill. Commissioned military officer LaGrange had antecedently been underneath Confederate medical aid for wounds received and had been cared for by the kinswoman of legislator Hill.
