La Corona is associate degree ancient Maya town in Guatemala’s Petén department that was discovered in 1996 and later disclosed to be the long-sought “Site Q”, a outstanding, undiscovered Maya town. “La Corona” suggests that “the crown” in Spanish; the primary archaeologists to review the location named it this once seeing a row of 5 temples that resembled a crown.

Due to the recent discovery of the location, solely some of town has been excavated, though groups from varied universities and also the National Geographic Society ar connected to the location.
